Happy Birthday Ellery!

Yesterday Little Miss Ellery turned one! We celebrated over the weekend with a birthday party. Twenty of Ellery's closest friends and family were there! :) We were hoping to have the party outside, but it was cold and rainy all day...just what we expected for the middle of August!?! But, the weather didn't dampen the fun. Ellery was wonderful. She was happy, smiling, playful and silly all day...I think she knew everyone was there for her! Ellery also became a "cornbilly" over the weekend! :) Her daddy calls anyone from Iowa a cornbilly since he's a hillbilly from Missouri!

Over the last month we've still be working on the house a ton...hopefully we'll be done one of these days. Two weeks ago Jason's grandma, grandpa and cousin came to visit for a weekend. We really enjoyed their visit, but Ellery was awful all weekend. She cried and cried and wouldn't let anyone hold her but mama.

This last weekend Jason's mom came to visit. She was here to celebrate Ellery's birthday. It meant a lot to us that she made the trip up here. She also helped Jason can a bunch of stuff from his garden. It's becomming a tradition for the two of them to can beets at this time every year! Like always her stay was too short! But, we're planning a trip to Missouri in 3 weeks, so we'll get to see everyone soon!

Oh yeah...I almost forgot...Ellery started walking two weeks ago when her great grandparents were here!
