Wow, yet another great week of weather. I know it's kinda sad that I start my post talking about the weather, but it's been so nice here. All of us have really enjoyed the warm sunny days with cool nights. Everyday Ellery and I have been taking a long walk, sometimes twice a day. The leaves are starting to turn and it's just beautiful outside. But...we know it won't last long! Like it or not, winter is coming. This weekend my mom and dad got Ellery her first snowsuit...a big day for an Iowa kid! LOL, just kidding. Of course it's mommy's favorite color, purple.
On Friday after Jason got home from work we took a long walk before dinner. Ellery keeps going out onto the front porch trying to get into her stroller...hence the multiple walks a day. For dinner Jason fixed some of the fish he caught last week, fried of course, since that's about the only way I'll eat it!
On Saturday Ellery got up nice and early...6 AM! We all fixed pancakes and bacon, one of Ellery's favorites. After Ellery's morning nap we headed to Davenport for the day. We had 4 birthday gifts and 1 wedding gift to buy for friends and family. But, like always, Ellery did well too. She got her first pair of pink snow boots (she loves to play outside, so now she's set for the snow), and a new dolly. We also had lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant. When we got home, we all went outside to play. Ellery "helped" out in the garden.
Sunday morning was another early day, shortly after 6! Thank goodness she'll play in her crib for about 30 minutes if we give her some toys! We all hung out at home in the morning. Ellery found her new boots and wanted them on, so she wore her snow boots for about an hour...jammies and all. We even went outside for a while when my parents stopped by. She looked so cute, I should have taken a picture, but I didn't think of it. Sunday afternoon we went to one of Ellery's friend's 5th birthday party. She had so much fun. The party was at the Discovery Center, it's almost like a children's museum. I wasn't sure we'd ever get her to leave. I think we found a great place to go to let her run and play for the winter. When we got home Ellery took about a 3 hour nap and Jason and my dad went fishing. I had a great afternoon too, I got to catch up on my favorite shows...thank goodness for Tivo! If only I could always fast forward through every commercial.
Well, that brings me up to now...Jason just got home, with more fish! Time to watch the Bears!
