Happy Thanksgiving! We spent the holiday with my family. We went to mom and dad's house Wednesday evening and spent a few nights. We would have stayed longer, but Ellery doesn't sleep well in her pack-n-play. So none of us were getting any rest and she was very grumpy. Matt, Emily and Reagan also arrived Wednesday night. They brought their two dogs and we brought our two dogs, so we had a full house. On Thursday mom and dad made a very yummy Thanksgiving lunch, we had to have it around lunch to accommodate Ellery and Reagan. Dr. Moore and Betty and Chuck were also there. We're running out of room around the table! Jason and Matt spent the morning and evenings bow hunting, but no deer yet! On Friday, Mom, Emily, Reagan, Ellery and I went out for lunch and a little shopping at Target. It was very busy, but we wanted to help the bottom line on Black Friday! :) Friday afternoon Ellery and I headed home because she wouldn't take a nap and it was driving me crazy. On Saturday Jason, Ellery and I got up and went on a hunt for new Christmas lights. It sounds like an easy task, but it ended up taking a lot longer than expected. We finally found what we wanted, normal icicle lights, at Wal-Mart. When we got back home Jason got started...should have been easy enough, but nothing ever goes as planned. He got the upper roofline done, only to have me turn them on and discover that there was a section in the middle that didn't work. We were dumb and didn't test them first! Anyway, we started working on the lower roofline...we were trying to straighten them out by pulling on either end and the lights tore in two! LOL I guess that's what we get for buying the cheap lights at Wal-Mart. So, Jason headed back to Wal-Mart to get two new strands of lights. He did finally get them up, although it took so long that he wasn't able to go hunting at all yesterday. We went back out to mom and dad's house last night to have homemade lasagna. When we got home the house looked beautiful. Jason did a great job. I'll take a picture when I get everything else up! Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny, mild day outside. Perfect for putting up lights. Today it's been snowing all day. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches before it's over. Right now there is next to nothing on the ground, most of it has already melted. I'm definately in the Christmas spirit now. I can't wait to get everything decorated and buy a tree!
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and that you had many things to be grateful for!
