This year we traveled to Missouri to spend Christmas in Missouri with Jason's family. When Ellery met Santa we made sure to let him know where to find her on Christmas Eve night. I'm happy to report that he found her, and she must have been a VERY good little girl this year!
We decided to drive to Missouri, since we had so much stuff/presents to take with us. We ended up taking Jason's truck, thankfully, since we ended up in a blizzard most of the way down. It was horrible driving, but Jason did great and Ellery slept most of the way. On Monday night we stayed in a flea bag motel in Kansas City. It was a Days Inn on the loop around KC and it was horrible, I don't recommend staying there! But, I did get a really cute picture of Ellery sitting on the bed naked after her sponge bath on Tuesday morning. The tub was so gross that there was no way I was going to put her in it! The funny thing is that I think the sheets may have been white at some point in time.
On Christmas Eve we headed out to Jason's parent's new house to have Christmas with his immediate family. His mom made a very yummy dinner! Ellery was in a good mood and played hard with Cooper and Adyson. Her Auntie Annie and soon-to-be Uncle Matt gave her a real grocery cart that was customized with her name on it...she loved it!
Ellery has finally realized that it's a lot of fun to tear into presents. Here she is opening the fanciest training potty I have ever seen that her Mema and Papa gave her. She likes to sit on it, now only if we could get her to use it! After we got home she and I were working on using the potty and I was trying to get her to go and I started making grunting sounds while she was sitting there. Now she sits on the potty, looks at me, smiles and starts to grunt. It's hilarious. BUT, no action in the potty thus far!
Ellery loved playing with Adyson's hair. Adyson would cover her face up and Ellery would giggle while pulling it to the side.

Ellery has really gotten into her "pretties". She loves to wear anything that sparkles. We were being silly and putting her headband on like a gypsy. She actually left it there until I took it off.

We gave Cooper and Adyson skateboards for Christmas and they were a really big hit with Ellery. They played with them until we left for the night.

On Christmas morning Ellery woke up to find that Santa had brought her a Rose Petal Cottage. She loves it. In this picture she only has the stove and washer inside, but now she has almost all the goods! Santa told everyone what she was getting so she also got the sink, nursery set, table and chairs, pots and pans, plastic food and a refrigerator.

Ellery also got her first PEZ dispenser from Santa in her stocking. She thinks it pretty neat that he is full of yummy candy. Anyone who knows me knows that she HAD to have her first PEZ dispenser. My parents started a collection for me when I was little and I now have several hundred of them. Thankfully, most of them live at mom and dad's house.

Ellery got up so early on Christmas morning that she was worn out by the time everyone arrived at Jack and Joannes for the George family Christmas. She actually fell asleep while I was holding her in the middle of about 20 people opening gifts and talking. I put her to bed and she got to open her gifts after her 2.5 hour nap!

Cooper, Adyson and Jenny opening gifts at Mema's and Papa's.

Here is a picture that Jason took of Christmas morning brunch with the George's. Every year they fix ham, eggs and fresh baked bread. As you can see we also had plenty of bloody mary's and mimosas. We were also celebrating Matt and Annie's engagement.
On Christmas night we headed to Mema Knott's house for the Knott family Christmas. Ellery wore her beautiful Christmas dress...BUT...we didn't get a single picture. The minute we arrived Ellery started crying and wouldn't let anyone even look at her. She buried her head in my shoulder and went to sleep for at least an hour. After she woke up she was just awful. She kept taking the other kids presents and throwing big fits. Jason and I were embarrassed. About the time everyone left she started being normal Ellery and playing nice.

The day after Christmas was a beautiful day. The high was in the low 70's, which felt amazing! Jason, Jeremy and John drove down to Arkansas and went on a great hike. It looks like a beautiful place from the pictures. Unfortunately, Jason had the flu and wasn't feeling very well. When they got home he went straight to bed and didn't move until the next morning.

The George women decided to spend the day with Annie trying on wedding dresses. I didn't have a camera, so I don't have any pictures. BUT, she did find a few that she loved and looked beautiful in. The problem was that ALL of them looked great on her. I'm anxious to see what she decides to get!

On Saturday we left Missouri around 3 to drive as far as Des Moines. This time, we ran into an ice storm! LOL But, we made it safely to our hotel...much better than the first one! Ellery was so worn out from all the fun that she slept most of they way again, which was great for us. On Sunday we met up with Matt, Emily and Reagan for lunch and a little shopping at the mall in Des Moines. Before we left we let Ellery and Reagan run around in the play area and they had a lot of fun. The place is covered with slides.

We got home around dinner time on Sunday night. Ellery was so good the entire trip. She only cried once for maybe 5 minutes. On Monday Jason went back to work and Ellery and I spent half the day with Grandma. Ellery also had to get her second flu shot. On Tuesday we went to Home Depot and picked out a pedestal sink, toilet and all the accessories for the powder room on the first floor of the house. It's all in boxes in the garage, but at least that's a step in the right direction. On Tuesday night Ellery was up from 12-4 throwing up. It was awful. She's never been sick before, so it was a new experience for all of us. I'm not sure how many times she puked all over both of us, but it wasn't pretty. We stripped her bed twice and changed her clothes 3 times. She and I finally fell asleep together in the guest bedroom around 4. I thought maybe she was done...but no such luck. She was sick 2 more times on Wednesday and again 1 last night. I've washed so many sheets, clothes and towels in the last few days it's amazing. Thank goodness we have two "gigis". That is the little blanky with a giraffe head that Ellery drags everywhere and sleeps with every night. Both gigis have been washed at least 4 times! To top it all off, yesterday I started getting a sinus cold. I feel poopy. It's been a long week at our house, hopefully we'll all be healthy soon!

Our new year's eve was pretty lame, since we were up all night the night before, we didn't have a baby sitter and none of us felt too well. I made fillets at home and we all went to bed fairly early. Oh well....maybe next year!?!
