Happy Father's Day!

Happy belated Father's Day! We packed as much as we possibly could into the day. We met up with my family for breakfast at 8:30, it was good...but not nearly as fancy/yummy as our mother's day brunch about a month ago...sorry Jas. After breakfast we headed to the quad-cities to the Niabi Zoo. Jason decided he wanted to take Ellery to the zoo for the day. When we got there it looked like it might rain, but we were hoping that it would hold off for a while. The very first thing we did was ride the little train that takes you around the zoo. Ellery loved it! She kept calling the train Thomas. She is obsessed with trains, especially Rosie.

Right after we got off the train it started raining. We had a raincoat for Elle, but nothing for us. So, we walked around in the rain. We didn't end up staying very long, because it just kept raining. Here is Elle in the aviary checking out the birds.

There was one monkey out, so we watched him for awhile...although I think Elle had more fun people watching.

By the time we left Jas and I looked like we had just stepped out of the shower. We headed off to lunch and a little drive around the airport where they were having the airshow. By the time we headed home it was actually a nice sunny day!?! I guess we just went to the zoo a little too early.
My mom and dad came over to our house for dinner. Jason fried crappie and I made wilted lettuce salad fresh from our garden. Then we headed over to the park for Ellery to play on the slides. Em, Reagan and Uncle Matt also went to the park, so the kids had a lot of fun running around. All in all it was a pretty good day celebrating the wonderful dad's in our family.
