Time Flies When Your Having Fun...

Ok, so I couldn't think of another title to explain my lack of posting. I always have good intentions, but I never get it done. Then it becomes such a large task to upload a ton of photos that I put it off even longer! So, it's been over a month....so here's what we've been up to....

The weekend of June 27th we flew down to Missouri to go to the Wrobleski family reunion. Jason had such great memories of these as a kid that he really wanted to go. Here is a picture of Jeremy (Jason's brother), Jack Goodman (Jason's cousin who is a Missouri Senator) and Jason. I'm not sure why the color is so off in this photo...maybe it was because of the heat! LOL It was over 100 that day. Thank goodness the reunion was inside.

We got up at 3 AM to make our flight the morning of the reunion. Elle was so worn out...she was taking a nap after arriving in Pierce City and I woke her up to go to the reunion....big mistake! She spent the whole time with her head buried in my chest crying. But, here is one picture of her with her daddy...at least she's not crying! I took her back to Mema Joanne's shortly after this picture was taken. Jenny, Jason's cousin was nice enough to babysit and put her to bed so Jason and I could stay and have fun. Thanks Jenny!

Jeremy, Annie, Matt, Mema Knott, Aunt Patsy and Uncle Tommy at the reunion.

Mema Joanne and Papa Jack have a great pool in their back yard. We went swimming as much as possible!

Jason, Ellery, Cooper and Adyson in the pool. Elle had so much fun playing with her cousins.

I have a picture almost identical to this one from last summer swimming in the pool.

Fourth of July weekend was very busy at the George's. We took the Ellery to the parade, she loved it cause she came home with a ton of candy. Here are her and Reagan eating their 'rito's before the parade started....kinda sad that we had to wear jeans since it was so cold!

Mommy and Ellery at the parade.

We....probably more of me than we...decided to spend the long weekend doing projects around the house. Jason built a wall and put in a door to the new bathroom downstairs. We had our breakfast nook turned into a bathroom earlier this summer. The plumbers quoted and finished the project in 1/2 a day...worth EVERY penny! So, we've had a sink and toilet in our "kitchen" for about a month....interesting to say the least. Anyway, Jason spent a big chuck of a day putting up my wall and door! Thanks Jas! The bathroom turned out great....except for my little error in spacial planning. When the guys asked where I wanted the sink and toilet I hadn't really given it much thought. So, I had them center them on the walls opposite of one another. It was a big breakfast nook, so there was more than enough room. BUT...I hadn't considered how much room the door would take up. So, I now have a door that can't be opened all the way...it hits the toilet by about an inch. BUT, I have no one to blame but myself. I think I'll eventually get over it!
As if that one project wasn't enough, we took on another one. We ripped out the tub surround to put up the tile we bought months ago....sounds easy enough...right?!? Wrong! Our house was built in the 1920's...nothing is square. So, for any of you who have ever done a housing project that was supposed to be square, you know how much fun this project was. We started on Saturday....here is Jason putting up the cement board....i thought I'd be tiling in an hour or two...more on that later!

The night of the 4th we went out to my parents for dinner. The kids helped make homemade ice cream. Ellery had never had it before and she loved it!

On Sunday I started tiling. I was dumb enough to think it wouldn't take long. I started around 9 in the morning and finished up around 9 at night! It was a very long day. Anyway, here is a picture of my handy work, before grout. I grouted on Monday night after work. So, the project started on Saturday and ended Monday night. We still have to tear out the old tile floor and put down the new...but we haven't tackled that project yet! The shower looks great...if I do say so myself!

I don't remember what day we took this...but Ellery fell asleep on the couch while Jas and I were finishing up lunch.

More parade photos.

My pictures are a bit out of order here. These were taken on Friday at the tractor pull. Ellery sat in Grandpa's lap the entire time. She had a lot of fun. YES...we actually went to the tractor pull!

After 4th of July weekend Jason was ready to go back to work! He didn't really do anything "fun" on his long weekend. But, I very much appreciate everything he's done around the house. Unfortunately there are still more projects....maybe someday we'll finish them!
One night we were out at Farmer's Fleet getting peanuts for mama squirrel. They had the Cozy Coup that I wanted to get Ellery for her birthday. We took a claim ticket, paid for it and drove around back to pick it up. They loaded a box into the trunk of my car. As we were leaving Ellery said "new car". I said who got a new car? She said "Ellery got a new car". I couldn't believe it. Jason and I didn't say another word about it. When we got home Ellery got out of the car, ran around to the trunk and said "Ellery's new car trunk out". So, Elle got her birthday present about a month early...and mommy learned a valuable lesson....shop alone!

Ellery hanging out in her "cozy coup".

Ellery's into building "bridges" as she calls them. She was proud of this one. She's also in a pair of Reagan's old jammies that glow in the dark.

I've been letting Ellery eat a sucker every now and then. I know...bad mom, her teeth will rot. But, this is funny. She started to resemble a smurf!

On Friday July 17th Ellery and left for Texas with my family. Jason didn't have enough vacation time left, so he wasn't able to go. I hadn't seen some of my family in 10 years, so it was time for a visit. Ellery and I rode with Grandpa in his truck.

The second night we camped in Guthrie, OK. We left for dinner in town and it was a beautiful night. By the time we went back to the camper a huge storm had gone through town and caused a ton of damage with wind and hail. This was the start of the rain that followed us most of the trip. Here is a picture of the the backside of the storm from the camper door.

The next day we visited my Aunt Sandra in Seymour, TX. We also saw two of my cousins, two second cousins and a third cousin. My aunt had to get up at 4 AM for work, so we headed back down the road to Wienert, TX. My mom's cousin and aunt and uncle live there. We camped outside a barn that night. Does it get anymore redneck than this?

The following day we visited my Meme, I took a picture but I forgot to upload it...maybe another post. Finally we drove down to Comfort, TX. We stayed with my Aunt Jamie and Uncle Donny for 4 nights.

Ellery had disappeared and was very quiet, when I went searching for her I found her hiding behind my bed. She was putting on all her kitty bandaids.

Ellery high in the Texas hill country.

So I debated posting this picture...but I think it's funny. Reagan and Ellery were playing in the baby pool and Ellery wanted her suit off. She's such a peanut!

Shopping in Fredricksburg, TX. Grandma had bought them new school buses, so they were showing them off to me.

Ellery being silly after supper at Mams Cita's.

Ellery and her great aunt Jamie. Ellery didn't want anyone else in the rock-rock chair!

My cousin Jason, Nate, cousin Ashlee, Aunt Jamie and Uncle Donny.

Having ice cream at a campground in Emporia, KS.

Thomas the Train on DVD...check. Hat...check. Headphones....check. Sunglasses....check. Baby plug...check. Rosie train....check. Sippy cup filled with OJ....check. Gigi....check. Blankie...check.
Ellery had actually asked for all of this stuff!

All in all we drove over 2500 miles. The rain followed us everywhere we went. Maybe we should start charging for that service...if we go there, it WILL rain! Ellery was great. No major meltdowns. I was pleasantly surprised. I think our next car will have to have DVD players like Grandpa's truck. After 9 days/nights away from home, we were both happy to be home.
This week we've been bombarded by cucumbers! We've given away a ton, eaten a ton and made pickles...yet I still have a laundry basket full! It hasn't been a good year for tomatoes, it's been too cold and rainy. But the cucumbers, green beans and cabbage have done excellent!
Now we're gearing up for Ellery's birthday party the weekend of the 8th! It's hard to believe she'll be two already!

Lastly, here are two videos I've taken on my phone in the past month. The one on the top is Ellery snapping green beans. The one on the bottom is Ellery eating the first corn of year. They're funny...enjoy!
