A little over 11 weeks ago our lives changed forever. Jack Arnold George was born Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 9:03AM. It already feels like he's been here forever. Our first family photo, above, was taken 3 hours after he was born.
Jack's birth couldn't have gone better. I started contracting about every 8 minutes sometime on that Thursday. My contractions would come and go but never closer than 8 minutes apart. I was scheduled to be induced Saturday 5AM. On Friday night we went out to eat with my parents, they took Ellery home with them. My dad said he didn't think I'd make it to morning, and he was right. My contractions started getting stronger, but still 8 minutes apart. Jas and I went to bed with the idea of getting some rest. I think I made it about 10 minutes before I got up. I hung out downstairs for a few hours. Then at about 1 AM the contractions went from every 8 minutes to every 3 minutes...that was a quick jump. After 30 minutes of that, I decided it was time to wake up Jason and head to the hospital. We arrived around 2AM. Ironically, they made me wait my turn to check in and then proceeded to take all of my insurance info, emergency contact info, etc...while I was contracting every 3 minutes! I was so glad I spent the time to pre-register...only to have to do it all again!
This picture was taken at 3:40AM.
The doctor arrived about 7:30AM. When he checked me my water broke. I was at a 5. One our later I was at a 10 and ready to push. From the time the nurse said that it was time to push to Jack's arrival was a total of 8 minutes! It only took 4 pushes! I was very lucky. He weighed in at 7 lbs 12.3 oz and was 19.5 inches long.
First photo with mom and dad.
A proud daddy!
Jack's first bath at the hospital.
The nurse let Jason pick his hat...I wasn't surprised that he chose the camo with the hunter safety orange knot on top. I have to say that it made me laugh!
Ellery and grandma and grandpa arrived at noon. She was pretty excited about the baby, but she was even more excited to eat my french fries they had brought me for lunch!

We all went home on Monday morning. I like to call this picture eff you...

Jack's first bath at home. He hated it, but now he loves to take a bath with his big sister.

Ellery got a new swing.

Easter weekend Jason's mom, brother and niece and nephew came to visit! Ellery was so excited to have her cousins Cooper and Adyson at her house!
Dyeing Easter eggs.
Jason, Jeremy and Cooper.
Uncle Jeremy and "Elle Ray".
Easter morning.
Easter egg hunt. Ellery really got into hunting the eggs this year. The Easter bunny hid about 80 eggs in our back yard this year!
Grandma brought a lamb cake for dessert.
Uncle Jeremy, Cooper, Adyson, Mema Betty, Jack and Ellery.
Three weeks old.

6 1/2 weeks old.
Cousins out taking a bike ride around the block.
Jason and Ellery have been busy working in the yard. We have 2 strawberry patches, blackberries and a big garden. They also planted my flower boxes for me! Ellery has become quite the gardener, she loves to help!
6 1/2 weeks old.
Ellery is a great big sister. She loves baby Jack...if only we could keep her from trying to poke his eyes out!
At this point, we bought a new camera, so the pictures get better! Jason was nice enough to let me buy a really great Nikon and I love it! The pictures are beautiful. I took this picture of Ellery right after we got home from buying my new camera.
10 weeks old.
Ellery helped daddy and grandpa plant grandpa's garden too. Ellery even found a shell in the dirt! Check out those hot pink nails! She's very into having her fingers and toes painted!

Playing outside at grandma and grandpa's house.

Thinking pretty hard about something...she looks just like her daddy here!
Grandma bought the kids a new pool for the backyard. It's big enough that we could even get in...if we wanted to!
Jack hanging out in his chair outside.
This is actually a picture that Jason took inside Best Buy when the sales person was showing us how to use our new camera.
Last week grandma and I took the kids to the Preston Days parade.

Look mama, horses!
We've settled into life with two kids pretty well. We've got the hang of getting out of the house, grocery shopping and putting everyone to bed! At the end of the day I'm exhausted, but it is well worth it and I look forward to each new day. Jack is growing so quickly. We're probably done having kids. We feel incredibly blessed that we have two healthy and happy little kids, what more could you ask for?

Wow, that post took up the whole page, I love it. The pictures are great!! Baby Jack is so adorable and I'm glad he is here safe and sound. I love his hair! Olivia and Audrey have the same bedding that Ellery does, how cute! I'm so glad things are going well, you have such a cute little family.
